Your Questions, Answered

  • Our philosophy focuses on three components that must exist for businesses in the financial services industry to truly standout as a premier brand. A business must include:

    1. The Business of You - Personal Work (often the hardest)

    2. Systems of Trust Development - Methods to Build and Sustain Trust

    3. The Business of the Business - 16 Key Areas of the Business That Must Be Customized

Over past decades, the firms that supported Advisors and Leaders in the industry have primarily focused on The Business of the Business. The old approaches to improving your business (called practice management) are often recirculated best practices. Today, most consultants recycle these same best practices. At The Advisor Project, we believe and lead the owner of the business through a customized consultation for each critical area.

Our models apply to both Advisors and Leaders.

    • Yes, Leaders need these models and systems in place too! Most are pulled in as many directions as Advisors, but they rarely have time or capacity to align their leadership approach to drive consistency and results.

  • Elite Coaching centers on “The Business of You.” We offer one-on-one and team coaching focused on the work the “individual” needs to improve themself for enhancing success performance. It works the same with teams. We start with the “individual” to clearly understand and define the individual’s goals - then the work of team coaching begins. During our careers, we have been in your place. We understand what you are going through and the challenging transitions that occur.

  • This is “The Business of the Business”. Some refer to it as Practice Management for Financial Advisors, but we call it Business Consulting. The old practice management approaches to improving your business are just recirculated best practices. As answered under the question, “What Makes The Advisory Project Different?”, our approach addresses three layers that are paramount to success: The Business of You, Systems for Building Trust, and, yes, The Business of the Business. These pillars must all be present and work together. When one or two are absent, the successful business breaks down or never reaches maximum development.

  • After a thorough conversation, we provide a discovery questionnaire to further increase our understanding of priorities and desired outcomes. If necessary, we may suggest one or more discovery sessions to further clarify and explore your needs before we prepare a written proposal.

  • We find that our principles guide us in our relationships:

    1. We will challenge you respectfully, but we will challenge you.

    2. We expect you to evolve with courage, because it takes courage to take on change.

    3. We work with the whole person and the business. We believe you are the most important asset - not tech, not products, and not processes.

    4. We will attack your sacred cows. You can’t grow when you rely on success patterns from the past to achieve your vision for your future.

    5. We will focus you on the future. Your success is worthy of recognition, but it often holds you back if over-relied upon. We believe curiosity, exploration and innovation, all shaped by your adaptability, will make or break your future success.
